VACANCY: Manager, Oil and Gas

A major player in the Energy Sector invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for appointment to the position of Manager, Oil and Gas

 

The Position

Reporting to the C.E.O., the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing, advising, negotiating, developing, implementing and monitoring all activities related to the exploration of oil and gas within the jurisdiction of Jamaica.

 

The Requirements

  • Post graduate degree in geology, preferably Ph.D. with specialization in petroleum;
  • Minimum of ten [10] years professional  experience in a managerial position in petroleum geology, with specific experience in physical geology, mineralogy, stratigraphy, economic geology, hydrology, geomorphology, structural geology, geochemistry, geophysics and geologic mapping;
  • Knowledge of the value and commercial uses of geologic resources;
  • Knowledge of the laws, rules and regulations pertaining to geology and related petroleum and mineral industry;
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations pertaining to the design, construction and monitoring of waste disposal facilities;
  • Knowledge of various processes used in well drilling and construction for oil and gas, water, exploration drilling and various types of monitor wells;
  • Ability to prepare geologic maps, cross-sections and fence diagrams;
  • Ability to maintain records, and prepare reports and correspondence related to work;
  • Strong analysis, planning, organizing and leadership skills;
  • Proficiency in the use of relevant computer applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
