KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Meteorological (Met) Service of Jamaica says at 4:00 pm Thursday, the centre of Tropical Storm Henri was located near Latitude 33.9 degrees north and Longitude 60.7 degrees west or about 420 km east-northeast of Bermuda.

The Met Service said Tropical Storm Henri is moving toward the north near 24 km/h. This general motion is expected to continue with an increase in forward speed through tonight. A faster north-eastward motion is predicted on Friday.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 65 km/h, with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours and Henri could become a post-tropical cyclone by Saturday.

Tropical Storm Henri is not a threat to Jamaica.
